Our Eye Care Practice in Boise

Dr. Bodily joined Vision One Boise in 2001 and has earned a reputation for helping others find comprehensive eye care strategies, particularly for those struggling with dry eye. Dr. Bodily has trained with the leading dry eye experts in the country and has received certification from The Dry Eye Institute.

He graduated from Brigham Young University and the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry. He completed a course in minor surgical procedures for the optometric physician from Northeastern State University College of Optometry and is certified in Aviation Vision by the American Optometric Association. He is a member of the Idaho Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Bodily is the recipient of many awards, including the UC Berkeley School of Optometry Gold Retinoscope Award, the VSP Scholarship Award, and the Marchon Practice Management Award.

Dr. Bodily has particular expertise and experience with diagnosing and treating dry eye, fitting soft and gas-permeable contact lenses, treating ocular diseases, aviation vision needs, and managing LASIK and cataract surgery. Dr. Bodily is the first provider to offer OptiLIGHT by Lumenis treatments for dry eye in Boise.

Dr. Bodily resides in Meridian with his wife and their 4 children. Dr. Bodily enjoys photography, cycling, spending time with his family, and flying as a private pilot.

Dr. Fronk has been a part of the Vision One Boise team since 2003, where his special interests include children’s vision, surgical co-management, and specialty contact lenses.

He was born and raised in southern Idaho. After attending high school, he continued his education at Brigham Young University, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis School of Optometry. 

He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Idaho Optometric Physicians. He is also a Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Fraternity member. Dr. Fronk has received the Paragon Clinical Research Award and the Marchon Practice Management Award.

He and his wife reside in Boise and have 8 children. The Fronks enjoy biking and the outdoors.

Dr. Chong joined Vision One Boise in 2021 with a special interest in pediatric vision exams. She has experience managing ocular diseases, and she enjoys working with her patients to create solutions for their unique visual problems.

Dr. Chong grew up in Washington state. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Chong then attended graduate school at Pacific University in Oregon, where she graduated with honors and received her Doctorate in Optometry. 

After graduation, Dr. Chong practiced optometry in Las Vegas, NV, and the Tri-Cities, WA, before finally moving to Boise. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Idaho Optometric Physicians.

In her free time, Dr. Chong loves to crochet, bake, and explore Boise and the surrounding area with her husband and their greyhounds.

Dr. Bender joined Vision One as an associate Doctor of Optometry in 2025. He specializes in diagnosing and managing ocular disease, and performs pre/post operative refractive surgery care for LASIK, cataracts, and implantable contact lenses.

He obtained his undergraduate degree at Boise State University where he studied Biology. He then attended Pacific University College of Optometry in Portland, Oregon where he graduated with honors. He was a tutor in optics while attending school, and he was active in many clubs including President of The Sports Vision Club. He also spent time in school helping people in third world countries with their ocular health through The Amigos Club. During his education Dr. Bender was recognized and awarded for his leadership and patient care. Dr. Bender is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Idaho Optometric Physicians.

Dr. Bender was born and lives in Boise, Idaho with his wife and son. He graduated from Capital High School. He is active in the Basque community where he volunteers his time for The Basque Museum and Cultural Center and other organizations.

He is an avid hiker, backpacker, and skier. He also enjoys playing basketball, cycling, and attending musical performances.
